Dependable fuel polishing for critical systems
Almost 1/4 of business generator failures are due to dirty fuel. With the recent change in UK fuel regulations and the subsequent increase in FAME and biodiesel content, fuel polishing is key in helping to decrease the risk to generators from fuel degradation.

What is the fuel polishing process?
Before any remedial work is carried out, our engineers will take a sample of your fuel to determine its quality and advise you on the most suitable course of action. Once the analysis is complete and your stored fuel is able to be cleaned to perfection, we will visit your site with a fuel polishing unit to begin the process.
Fuel polishing uses a mixture of filtration and depolymerisation to pass fuel through a series of increasingly finer filters. This removes water, sediment and microbial contamination and cleans it back to a filtration level of 1-micron absolute, which is an industry high. Following this, our fuel polishing unit uses depolymerisation technology to break down harmful particulates and polish the fuel to perfection.
Will fuel polishing cause any disruption to my business?
Fuel polishing causes zero disruption to your operations. The fuel remains in-situ and is passed through the unit where it’s cleaned, purified and returned to your tank all in one motion. By recirculating the fuel, we will remove any water, diesel bug and particulate contaminants that have built up, ensuring your generator is protected from fuel contamination issues.
What are the benefits of fuel polishing?
Fuel polishing is one of the most cost-effective treatments available when all factors are considered, including:
- Zero disruption to services
- No need to re-purchase a new fuel supply
- Avoids the waste and cost of disposing of contaminated fuel
Why do you need clean fuel?
It may seem strange at first, the idea of needing to clean fuel, but a poor quality, contaminated supply can cost you money in a variety of ways if left untreated:
- Cross-contamination – contaminated fuel at the bottom of your tank will mix with any new fuel added to your storage facility
- Decreased efficiency – dirty fuel will gradually degrade in quality and damage your fuel supply system, engines and machinery
- Reliability issues – if you need your fuel in an emergency, you need to know it’s of a high enough quality. If not, it will be useless as a backup source and your business will have no way of operating
